Erifili Missiou is a London based visual artist. She got an MA in Sculpture from University of the Arts London and a BA in Fine Arts from Athens University of Fine Arts.
Her practice is emphasizing the Process and is strongly related to the group Projects she curates. Space and group dynamics are decisive elements that direct the final solution of her artwork. Her work hovers between different media recently focusing on video, performance and the use of language. She often employs humor and architecture to communicate her ideas.
She is interested in human consciousness and she investigates this area by focusing on oppositional pairs such as: Familiar/ Uncanny, Inside/ Outside, Freedom/ Incarceration etc. She focuses on their in between border – a point of high intensity-whilst questioning its existence.
